F

The letter F, or f, is the sixth letter in both the modern English and ISO basic Latin alphabets. In English, it's called ef (pronounced /f/), and the plural is efs.

The sound /f/, the voiceless labiodental fricative, is represented by the letter f in the English writing system. At the end of words, it is frequently doubled. It represents the voiced labiodental fricative /v/ in the common word "of" in a unique way. With a frequency of about 2.23 percent in words, F is the twelfth least frequently used letter in the English language (after C, G, Y, P, B, V, K, J, X, Q, and Z).
